Centering Prayer Retreat
Centering Prayer & the Relationship Between Contemplation and Action
If you want to awaken all of humanity, then awaken all of yourself.
If you want to eliminate the suffering in the world, then eliminate all that is dark and negative in yourself.
Truly, the greatest gift you have to give is that of your own self-transformation.
-- Lao Tzu
The practice of Centering Prayer changes the way we think and perceive everything and everyone around us, thus changing the dynamic of all of our relationships. It opens us to be more directed by the spirit in our daily actions and interactions and leads us to discover that the transformation of ourselves becomes the transformation of our world.
Join us for a weekend – with God, a praying community, and the natural beauty of the Mercy Center grounds – to deepen our consent to this transformation.
Our retreat will include silence, several periods of Centering Prayer, conferences, sharing, liturgy, contemplative free time, reflection, rest, and opportunity for gentle yoga and body work.
